OUT IS OUT examines the generation gap in Queer politics, exhibiting work by people who paved the way for LGBTIQ self-expression and freedom and a new generation of activists; young Queer mob who challenge gender identifying language and norms.
The challenge of the generation gap is heightened as a new understanding of the tragedy of climate change and the impact of a consumerist culture on generations to come is dawning on us all. Baby Boomers are beginning to understand the cost of their lifestyle and millennials are asking questions about the economic and environmental legacy left to them.
How do we reconcile these tensions as emerging ways of thinking and dialoguing allow for the invention of new possibilities? What will it mean to be Queer in the future?
Visit Wyndham Art Gallery to participate in a dialogue between generations as the younger teach the older and the older share their wisdom borne of struggle.
