Be surprised and delighted by a huge variety of work in the Wyndham Art Prize 2018. Fast becoming one of Australia’s prominent prizes, our prize attracts artists from across the country and even as far away as Singapore.
Seventy-four artists compete for a $10,000 non-acquisitive major prize and a $2000 People’s Choice Award. Deakin University has once again offered generous bursary opportunities* for artist’s pursuing post graduate study.
You can expect to see sculpture, video, photography, drawing, painting, and inventive two-dimensional work in a variety of mediums.
The Wyndham Art Prize also offers local and emerging artists a chance to exhibit alongside artists who are at the peak end of the art world. A wide range of ideas are evident in the work, from political statements to aesthetic intentions, showing that art is as diverse and exciting as the world that it comes from.
Judged this year by Charlotte Day, Director of Monash University Museum of Art.
The Wyndham Art Prize is a jewel of the Deep West. Visit the exhibition, and see why Wyndham is becoming the place to experience art from a different perspective.
